Communication & Family Partnership

Direct. Proactive. Reassuring.

Families need more than occasional updates. They need direct access, clinical clarity, and consistent communication.

At Arbor Place, communication is not layered or filtered. Families have direct lines to leadership and clinical staff. When questions arise, you reach the people who know your loved one best.

You can call. You can email. You can schedule time to talk. We respond promptly.

When a change in behavior, health status, or routine occurs, we communicate clearly. We explain what we are observing, what it may mean, and what steps we are taking. Clinical decisions are not vague or reactive. They are explained with transparency and context.

Proactive Follow-Through

In dementia care, small changes matter.

A resident who usually finishes breakfast leaves food untouched.
Someone who walks steadily begins holding the wall.
A calm afternoon becomes a restless one.

Because Arbor Place is small and closely supervised by nursing leadership, those changes are noticed early. They are not dismissed as “just a day.”

When something shifts, we reach out. We explain what we are seeing, what we think may be contributing to it, and what we are doing next.

We stay close to the situation, and we stay in touch. We check back. We monitor closely. We follow through until the situation settles.

This is a calm, caring home. Residents are supported moment to moment, and families are kept informed with steadiness, clarity, and respect.

We ultimately visited 20 facilities: 15 in 4 different states initially, then 5 more . . . In all this, one facility stood out: Arbor Place. As we’ve said many times, there’s no place like Arbor Place. Not only do we think that it is the best place for our father but that it is truly unique in the things that matter most.

When I began my search for a facility, my heart sank when I went into some of them. There was nothing particularly wrong with them, except that they were depressing and dreary, with patients sitting around sleeping in wheelchairs in front of a TV. But when I went to Arbor Place, I felt very happy.

We have never looked back, not once. Arbor Place was that wonderful. The care, the caring, the love at Arbor Place are indescribable. We never felt that anyone was ‘doing a job.’ Rather, the staff was caring for people they cared about. The facility was warm, cheerful, and clean. It felt like a home—never a ‘facility.’ The staff to resident ratio is second to none; frankly, my Mom was never alone.
